Resident's Responsibilities

It is the resident's responsibility to maintain their unit for a safe, clean and hazard free environment.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the Housing Authority of the City of Frederick (HACF).

Nancy Strahler, Housing Inspector/Maintenance Mechanic I

It's your responsibility to:
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that will not disturb your neighbors or other residents

  • Not engage in criminal activity in the unit, common areas or on the grounds

  • Keep your unit clean and don't litter on the grounds or in the common areas

  • Dispose of garbage and waste in a proper manner

  • Comply with local codes that affect the health and safety of the residence in keeping things clean, orderly and report any damage to the unit

  • Maintain your apartment and common areas in the same general physical condition as when you moved in. By keeping your apartment clean, it helps the physical condition of the unit last longer

  • Report any apparent environmental hazards to the HACF along with any defects in building systems, fixtures, appliances or other parts of the unit, the grounds or related facilities
